Craig Summers, a DePaul junior, moved into Ion Lincoln Park in 2018 after other housing plans fell through.

While living there, one of his roommates went for a late-night snack run one evening, leaving the door to their apartment unlocked. The next morning, Summers woke up and found a man on his couch, bleeding from his forehead.

This man was a stranger to everyone in the apartment.

White Femme Fatales Part 1

 Intersections

The pass white women get for their racism is unbelievably upsetting and disconcerting. They are ‘absolved of their sins’ of racism because of the innocence associated with white femininity, a racist concept in itself. Many people see them as innocent, gentle beings that can do no wrong, yet they oftentimes engage in racism alongside white men. The erasure of white women’s racism is nothing new and it most likely will not stop soon. As a Black woman, I often feel the need to watch how I respond to the racist comments of white women classmates because despite me being actually aggressed on a micro and macro scale by their comments I will be perceived as an attacker.

Long Await Cultural Centers Open

The DePaulia

On the day of the opening, the once empty hallway became packed with students, staff, artists and golf teams members. DePaul’s Black, Latinx, LGBTQA, and Asian Pacific-Islander Desi-American (APIDA) cultural centers had their grand opening after months of waiting. The opening featured food, a raffle and a featured artist in each of the centers.
